BMW has officially released the F82 M4 LCI for 2017. The LCI, or Life Cycle Impulse as it stands for, includes slight tuning and revision made to the M4’s chassis and suspension. More visibly however are the inclusion of BMW’s dynamically redesigned adaptive full-LED front and rear headlights/taillights. In terms of power figures the base model M4 remains at 425 horsepower however the competition package variant sees a rise to 450 horsepower.

f90 m5 official technical specifications

5/4/2017

Enthusiast are finally getting their first taste of the final next generation M5 rendering. The F90 M5 is speculated to have 3  drivetrain modes including all-wheel drive, all-wheel drive sport, and 100% rear-wheel drive mode. Furthermore, the F90’s TwinTurbo V8 will produce in excess of 600 horsepower launching the M5 to 100 km/hr in just 3.6 seconds. BMW’s official announcement will likely arrive towards the end of this year.

Rumoured Specs:

  • 3 Drivetrain Modes (100% AWD/ AWD Sport/100% RWD)
  • 4.4 Litre Twin Turbo V8 making 600+ horsepower (442+ kW) and 550+ ft-lb of torque (745+ Nm) 0-100 km/hr in 3.6 seconds.

F90 M5 RENDERED

10/14/2016

Although the all-new M5 is still in the final stages of its development, and yet to be officially announced, we can still infer it's design from the newly released #G30 5 Series. Expect the F90 to bear all the design trademarks of a classic M. This includes larger air inlets echoed throughout the design, a lowered suspension, and of course signature ///M badging complimented by a quad-exhaust. In terms of engine performance, as I already outlined in a recent post, we can expect the F90 M5 to have around 600 horsepower (447 kW) and X-Drive All-Wheel Drive. When considering that the M550i can attain 0-100 kph times of 4.0 seconds it can be safely assumed the M5 will achieve this in closer to 3.5 seconds. Photo sourced from @bmwblog

2017 bmw M760i release in detail

2/18/2016

BMW has officially announced the M760Li. Do not be confused however. Although bearing the M badge designation, this vehicle will more closely resemble an M performance variant such as the M235i- rather than a full fledged M car. But that does not stop the all-new M760Li from being a missile-like power house on the road. Much like the previous generation 760Li, this new generation model will feature a monstrous V12 engine with an astounding 6.6 litre displacement. BMW claims 0-100 km/hr times of 3.9 seconds. However, in considering the fact that the highly similar Alpina B7 variant 7 series accomplishes merely 3.6 seconds, with just 8 cylinders, suggests the reality of the 3.9 second M760Li’s rating begs to differ. As discussed in the article by @bmwblog, it would make sense that “BMW is only claiming those numbers to not outdo or overshadow what Alpina’s done, as the 6.6 liter twin-turbo V12 is capable of so much more power”. I’m tempted to argue that the M760Li’s 0-100km/hr rating will actually be likely closer to low-mid 3 second range on the road. Considering the fact that the M760Li achieves identical power figures to the Alpina B7, but with 4 additional cylinders, suggests to me that there is a degree of BMW’s notorious performance figure underrating at play here. The M760Li will be available for ordering beginning mid 2017. What are your thoughts on this new release? As always, here are the (initial) M760Li technical data stats:

Technical Engine Data: • TwinPower Turbo • #V12 • 48 Valve • 6.6 Litre • 600 hp @ • 590 lb-ft torque • Curb Weight Speculation: ~2200+ kg (~4850+ lbs) • 0-100 km/hr in 3.9* seconds with X-Drive • Source: http://goo.gl/DWnyEL • *stock figures *via @bmw & @bmwblog
