BMW reveals the m4 cs (f82)

BMW has officially unveiled the brand-new M4 CS at the Shanghai AutoShow.
The M4 CS, or coupe sport, is intended to sit above the current generation Competition Package and standard M4, however, below the top model GTS. This is good news for enthusiasts because it marks a new top model for the BMW M4 with un-limited production volume; this is unlike the current top model GTS which has been limited to only 700 units which are all sold out. BMW has redesigned their S55 engine to now achieve 460 horsepower ( 338 kW) and 442 lb-ft of torque (600 Nm). This is achieved by taking advantage of enhanced tuning rather than adopting the GTS' water injection tech as originally speculated. The 0-100 km/hr time is rated for 3.9 seconds, however considering that this is what the Competition Package M4 is capable of that figure appears to be susceptible to BMW's notorious under-rating, and the actual 0-100 time could be much quicker. The M4 CS also incorporates many GTS features including it's OLED rear taillights, a shortened (and more practical) carbon fibre front lip spoiler and front hood, as well as weight saving interior features including exposed raw carbon door panels and straps instead of handles. The M4 CS weighs in at only slightly less than the current Competition Package M4. Despite this however, BMW CEO, Harold Kruger, has mentioned that the car has been dynamically rebalanced to be more agile and more capable on the track. Considering that the M4 CS laps the Nurburgring in a mere 7 minutes and 38 seconds, his sentiment ought to be accepted. That puts the M4 CS on par with the Lexus LFA and the Lamborghini Gallardo Superleggera in terms of lap times. Not bad for a German luxury coupe.
